New Soap varieties for Pre-Orders

A very good friend, Helen Montero from UAE, placed a pre-order of 40 pcs last month for two varieties: Milk and Honey with Oatmeal and Milk and Carrots with Honey.

For these two batches, I am using the following ingredients for ultra moisturising and nourishing benefits:

Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Fresh Milk, Unrefined Shea Butter, Honey, Oatmeal, Carrot Puree (my boardmates helped me squeezing carrots and grounding oatmeal into tiny bits), Vitamin E, Chamomile Essential Oil, Vanilla Extract and Lemon Juice.

I made these two batches last August 2, 2012 and now undergoing a curing period. This period allows handcrafted soap to age for three to four weeks before it can be used, this process is a must to all home made soap in order for caustic soda to evaporate completely.

For baby's sensitive skin: Milk and Honey with Chamomile Essential Oil

Three weeks is an ideal period to cure handmade soap and to allow enough time to evaporate caustic soda, the alkali that used to bind oils and fats to form a solid soap. I am learning a new technique in soapmaking called "sunshine swirl" where the pastel shade of soap will be drizzled with different colors like orange, green and red. I am finding enough time how to complete the techniques.
